Georgia’s French-born President Salome Zourabichvili on Friday extended her well-wishes to the French people on their national holiday of Bastille Day by calling it a “source of inspiration for freedom”
In her social media post, the President hailed the day as a “source of inspiration for all nations and countries that strive for freedom and Europe”.

This day is a symbol of the struggle for freedom and equality”, Zourabichvili added.
The date marks a pivotal date of the French Revolution in 1789, when citizens stormed the Bastille fortress, a symbol of the harsh rule of the country’s monarchy that had been used to detain prisoners.
