Natia Turnava, the newly appointed First Vice President of the National Bank of Georgia, who currently serves as the Acting Chairperson of the institution, on Saturday said the independence of the Bank, guaranteed by the Georgian Constitution, would be “inviolable and protected”.

Turnava noted the Bank would continue cooperation with “all branches” of the Government “as usual within the scope of its mandate”.

She emphasised that despite different opinions regarding the National Bank, the decision to ensure the structural stability of the body was reached, which would “be good” both for the Bank and for the financial system stability of Georgia”.
