Issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed between the Georgian Defence Minister Juansher Burchuladze and his Slovak counterpart Martin Sklenár on Tuesday on the sidelines of the Global Security Forum in Bratislava.
The Ministry of Defence said Burchuladze congratulated Sklenár on being appointed to the position and extended his gratitude to the Slovak Government for its ongoing “political and practical support”.
He also highlighted the involvement and financial support of Slovak experts in the implementation and operation of the Defence Institution Building School, launched in Georgia in 2016 as part of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package.
The two sides also discussed development, education, and experience-sharing of the two countries’ armed forces.
Burchuladze is in the Georgian delegation for the Forum, led by Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. The event involves officials from EU member states, lawmakers and professionals discussing security matters, energy independence, effects of Russia’s ongoing invasion in Ukraine and the future of Europe.
