The Georgian Government Administration on Thursday responded to the Presidential Administration’s statement, released earlier today, allegedly the Georgian Government had “artificially delayed” consent to the President’s visit to Strasbourg, causing its postponement, and rejected the claims as false and “misinformation”.
The state body said it had sent a written consent to Zourabichvili today, after receiving a letter from the Presidential Administration on Wednesday regarding the working visit to Strasbourg on April 17-19, and stressed the President had also received a verbal approval in this regard from the Government during her working visit to the United States in early March.
The approval for the President's recent working visits to France and Belgium on March 13-16 was issued on March 13 in response to the letter received from the Presidential Administration on March 10, the Government Administration emphasised, adding it had “immediately” given its consent to the previous visits as well as the current one.
A written consent was also sent to Zourabichvili for her working visit to Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the state body added.
