Police arrest one for insulting mother of ex-Pres. Saakashvili
The arrested individual has been charged with petty hooliganism and disobedience to the officers.

Georgian law enforcement officers on Friday arrested an individual for insulting Giuli Alasania, the mother of the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili, following an incident on Thursday outside the Vivamedi civilian clinic in Tbilisi.
Media reports said Alasania’s bodyguards had attempted to stop the offender as the latter approached the former official’s mother while she was being interviewed outside the clinic where the former official has been undergoing treatment since May.
A police crew also arrived at the scene shortly following the incident, with the arrested individual charged with petty hooliganism and disobedience to the officers.
The incident took place as a trial hearing on granting release or postponement of the rest of Saakashvili’s sentence on medical grounds was held in Tbilisi City Court during the day.
Saakashvili was involved in the process via a video link before his participation was cut short as lawyers claimed the former President had become unwell.
Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Georgian Parliament's Foreign Relations Committee, on Thursday said there were “no question marks” regarding the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili in the capitals of Georgia’s partner countries.
Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream party, on Thursday accused the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili of “talentless simulation” in his participation in the ongoing trial hearing at Tbilisi City Court on granting release or postponement of the rest of his sentence on medical grounds.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Wednesday said the imprisoned former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili had been offered by Justice Minister Rati Bregadze to invite “any doctor from any country” for his medical treatment, but the aim of Saakashvili’s lawyer was to release him from custody on the medical grounds and not to heal him in Georgia.
Georgian Justice Minister Rati Bregadze on Monday said authorities were “doing their utmost” to ensure the health of the imprisoned former President Mikheil Saakashvili in detention.
