Farmers throughout Georgia have purchased goods worth ₾35,752,914 (about $13 mln) since May within the state programme for agriculture, the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection said on Thursday.
Launched on May 10 with the initiative of Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, the programme enables owners and co-owners of land plots between 0.25-1.25 hectares to receive a ₾300 (about $111) subsidy per hectare.
The ministry also said over 500 stores were being involved in the programme throughout the country, with farmers offered to cash out “agro points” and purchase goods until November 30.
