Georgian central bank sells $8.30 million at foreign exchange auction

The National Bank of Georgia offered $20 million at the foreign exchange auction on Wednesday of which $8.30 million was sold, the bank announced today.
The average weighted bid rate was 2.7961.
As of today, $1 costs ₾2.8019, while €1 costs ₾2.8378.
Last year the NBG sold $332.9 million through nine foreign exchange auctions.
The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) offered 50 million USD at the foreign exchange auction on Wednesday of which 39.5 million USD was sold, the bank announced yesterday. In the first foreign exchange intervention this year, the NBG made the sale with an average weighted rate of 3.3947.

The National Bank of Georgia (NBG) sold $40 million at foreign exchange auction today. The average weighted bid rate was 3.2964. This was the second intervention this year while the first one was made on January 6. So far the NBG has sold $80 million in total at foreign exchange auction.
