Foreign embassies and dignitaries on Saturday extended their condolences over the deaths of the crew, rescuers and first aid responders onboard the Georgian border police helicopter that crashed in the winter resort town of Gudauri in the north on Friday.
The United States Embassy in Georgia expressed its “deepest” condolences to the families and friends of the deceased and said “the entire US Embassy team saluted their commitment to keeping Georgia safe and secure”.
Ned Price, the United States Department of State Spokesperson said during this tragic event the US stood with “Georgian friends and partners at Georgian Government”.

Turkish Foreign Ministry extended its condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and to the “friendly Government and people of our neighbour Georgia.
The French Embassy in Georgia joined the day of mourning, offering condolences and expressing admiration for the “daily courage of all civil security officials around the world”.
Jeyhun Bairamov, the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijani said he was “saddened” by the news and noted Azerbaijani stood by Georgia “in this difficult period”.

We expresses our deepest condolences to families & loved ones of those tragically killed while on duty yesterday.
There were four crew members onboard the helicopter, as well as two rescuers from the emergency management service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and two medics from the emergency coordination and emergency assistance centre.
