Georgia reports 17,530 new cases of coronavirus, weekly positivity rate stands at 15.32%

Georgia has reported 17,530 new Covid-19 cases, 5,087 recoveries, and 39 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate for the past 14 days stands at 15.32%.

Overall 100,013 remain infected with coronavirus in Georgia.

A total of 78,172 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 46,900 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 31,272 were PCR tests. 

1,092,684 cases of coronavirus have been registered in Georgia since February 26, 2020.

A total of 977,832 of 1,092,684 patients have recovered, while 14,813 have died from the virus.

Overall, 1,607 cases of the Omicron variant have been confirmed in the country as of January 26.

The 17,530 new cases were recorded in:

  • Tbilisi - 9,487 cases 
  • Adjara - 1,958 cases 
  • Imereti - 1,990 cases 
  • Kvemo Kartli - 831 cases 
  • Shida Kartli - 877 cases 
  • Guria - 240 cases 
  • Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 680 cases 
  • Kakheti - 704 cases 
  • Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 391 cases 
  • Samtskhe-Javakheti - 310 cases 
  • Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 62 cases

A total of 4,651 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 999 patients are in critical condition out of which 283 are on artificial ventilation.

93,339 people are undergoing treatment at home. 

Overall, 1,325,112 individuals have received at least one dose of any vaccine in the country so far, while 1,212,744 people have been fully vaccinated amounting to 42.2% of the country’s adult population.
