Georgian President pardons 8 inmates for Easter

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili pardoned eight inmates for the Easter holiday, the President Administration announced on Saturday.

With the latest round of pardons coming on the Orthodox celebration, the pardoned inmates were set to leave the penitentiary institutions on Saturday.

Orthodox Christians in Georgia celebrate Easter on April 24 this year, with the date marked as a public holiday in the country.
