The visit of the Alliance of Patriots opposition party in Moscow, and their proposals of neutrality of Georgia, are “unacceptable” on the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, Kakha Kaladze, the Secretary General of the ruling Georgian Dream party and Tbilisi Mayor, said on Thursday.

The Georgian politician was responding to statements of the members of the opposition party about the necessity of Georgia adopting military neutrality, made during their visit to the Russian capital the day before.

“What kind of neutrality are we talking about when there is a war in a friendly country, which is collapsing, [and] cities are being destroyed?”, Kaladze said in reference to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

During their Moscow visit, the delegation of the Alliance of Patriots met with Vladimir Jabarov, the First Deputy Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation.

The sides discussed the “development of Russian-Georgian relations”, the Georgian media outlet Netgazeti reported.
