Police have arrested one individual for illegal purchase and possession of large quantities of drugs, the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) said on Sunday.
The arrested individual, identified as K.L., is a citizen of Ukraine who has been temporarily residing in Georgia since February.
Police officers seized 400 GEL, 1,200 USD, lysergide (LSD) and one package of hashish, MIA noted.
The crime is punishable by eight to 10 years in prison, or a life sentence.
The Georgian police arrested 22 individuals, including 17 for drug dealing, in the Ponichala district of Tbilisi and in a number of regions of Georgia on Tuesday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Georgia announced.
