Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has congratulated the Georgian population on New Year’s Eve wishing for the 2022 year to be a ‘year of progress, success, unity, prosperity and development’ for Georgia and its people.
Garibashvili emphasised that 2021 was a year ‘full of challenges’ both politically and in terms of the pandemic, noting that ‘there have been many tragedies caused by the loss of lives.’
He also spoke of successes the country achieved in 2021, saying ‘we have had serious achievements both locally and internationally.’
Garibashvili pledged to create new jobs and reduce poverty in the next year, stating ‘development and progress will be observed in all directions.’
Economically strong and unified Georgia, a strong Georgian state - this should become our main goal. It is possible and we can do it! With our unity, consistent and devoted work, Georgia will definitely become such a state,” Garibashvili said.
PM Garibashvili congratulated doctors, immigrants, police officers, soldiers, public servants, youngsters and the older generation with New Year, stating that ‘hope for the future gives us the faith and strength to serve our precious homeland with more devotion, sincerity and love.’
The head of the Georgian government also wished for the country’s unification with the Abkhazian and Ossetian people from Georgia's Russian-occupied regions.
