Average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia decreased by 5 GEL (0.4%) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1,314.7 GEL, reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The highest monthly earnings were observed in the following fields:
- Information and communication – 2,199.8 GEL (+6.2% y/y)
- Construction – 2,061.8 GEL (+1.2%)
- Professional, scientific and technical activities – 2,020.9 GEL (-8.8%)
- Financial and insurance activities 2,017.2 GEL (+4.2%)
In Q4 of 2020 the average earnings for women reached 1,022.3 GEL, while men earned 1,581.5 GEL per month.
The annual growth of earnings for women amounted to 3.8 GEL, while for men it decreased by 11.7 GEL.
In the majority of sectors of the economy the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women", said Geostat.
The average monthly earnings of employees in the business sector increased by 12.2 GEL and equalled to 1,417 GEL.
The highest monthly earnings were observed in:
- Professional, scientific and technical activities - 2,319.9 GEL (-7.3%)
- Information and communication activities - 2,257.2 GEL (+6.9%)
The average monthly earnings of employees in the non-business and financial sector decreased by 9.2 GEL and amounted to 1,157.2 GEL. The highest monthly earnings were observed in the financial and insurance activities.
The turnover received by the Georgian business sector increased by 2.1% (y/y) and amounted to 32 billion GEL in the fourth quarter of 2020, says the National Statistic Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Average monthly earnings in Georgia increased by 117.6 GEL ($39/€34.9) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2019 compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1,319.6 GEL ($438.1/€391.8), reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
The number of people employed in the Georgian business sector in the third quarter of 2020 decreased 7.2% compared to the same period of 2019, totalling 645,600 people. Of this number of employed people 40.8%were women and 59.2% were men.
The average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia for men (1,352.4 GEL) were 46.3 per cent higher than for women (924.2 GEL) in the second quarter of 2020, show data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 53.5 GEL (4.4%) in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1,256.2 GEL (about $397.53/€327.83), reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
