Average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia decreased by 5 GEL (0.4%) in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020 compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 1,314.7 GEL, reports the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In Q4 of 2020 the average earnings for women reached 1,022.3 GEL, while men earned 1,581.5 GEL per month.
The annual growth of earnings for women amounted to 3.8 GEL, while for men it decreased by 11.7 GEL.
In the majority of sectors of the economy the average monthly earnings of men were higher compared to women", said Geostat.
The average monthly earnings of employees in the business sector increased by 12.2 GEL and equalled to 1,417 GEL.
The average monthly earnings of employees in the non-business and financial sector decreased by 9.2 GEL and amounted to 1,157.2 GEL. The highest monthly earnings were observed in the financial and insurance activities.
