Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has appointed Georgia’s former Ambassador to Poland Ilia Darchiashvili as the new head of the administration of the government of Georgia.
Darchiashvili, 40, will replace Kakheber Kemokidze in the post.
Darchiashvili is an experienced diplomat, said the government of Georgia press office.
He is a graduate of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and holds a Master of Business Administration from Grenoble Business School, France.

Darchiashvili became Georgia’s ambassador to Poland in 2017. Prior to that, in 2016-2017, he was Georgia’s ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Poland.
Between 2003 and 2012 he worked in the Georgian banking sector.
Darchiashvili was the first deputy head of Georgia’s Municipal Development Fund in 2014-2015, while in 2015-2016 he served as deputy minister of the regional development and infrastructure.
Kakhaber Kemoklidze, who was appointed head of the government administration by former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia in early February, has announced his resignation. Kemoklidze said that throughout the past ten years, he had ‘an honour to work with special people and leaders’ under both the previous and current governments.
Former Head of the National Security Council Kakhaber Kemoklidze will be the new head of the government administration.
Head of the Government Administration Natia Mezvrishvili has resigned today.
Former Deputy Interior Minister Natia Mezvrishvili will now be responsible for the new Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia’s public relations office, protocol and foreign relations issues.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has appointed two new Vice-Prime Ministers earlier today in the government session. Georgian Minister of Culture, Sport and Youth Tea Tsulukiani and Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia Levan Davitashvili will take the post starting today.
Ilia Darchiashvili, the former Head of the Government Administration, has been appointed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced on Monday in a press briefing.
