Pension increases to 300 GEL for those above 70 in Georgia

People over 70 years of age will receive an increased pension starting January 1, 2022, with monthly pensions increasing by 20 GEL to 260 GEL, while pensioners over 70 will receive an increased pension of 300 GEL, up 25 GEL.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at today’s government meeting that retirees under 70 years living in highland villages of Georgia will receive 312 GEL, while pensioners over 70 will receive 360 GEL.
PM Garibashvili also noted that monthly assistance to war veterans will also increase to 100 GEL starting January 1.
Pensions have increased in Georgia starting January 1, 2021, says the Ministry of Health, Labour and Social Affairs of Georgia.
People above 70 years will receive an increased pension starting July 1, 2020, with monthly pensions increasing by 30 GEL ($9.84/€8.63) to 250 GEL ($81.97/€71.95).
The Interagency Commission for Determining the Terms of Banking Services has ruled on establishing a 26 percent upper limit for loan payments backed by pensions, which may be further reduced in the future based on inflation in Georgia.
Georgian Health Minister Zurab Azarashvili on Monday announced the conclusion of a state tender aimed at improving loan terms for pensioners in the country, revealing “significantly improved conditions” for the senior citizens would follow the move.
