Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexandre Khvtisiashvili, who is on an official visit to Qatar, has spoken of ‘bilateral cooperation in various fields and mutual support’ with Dr. Ahmad Hassen Al-Hammadi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.

During the meeting the parties have pledged to deepen trade and economic ties between Georgia and Qatar. They also spoke of the situation in the two Russia-occupied Georgian regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) as well as the issues of regional importance, including the situation in Afghanistan.
As part of his visit the Georgia Deputy FM also discussed economic issues with Sultan Bin Rashid Al Khater Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of Qatar.

In Qatar Khvtisiashvili visited local companies, including Milaha, a maritime and logistics company, as well as Lulu Group International and Family Food Center hypermarkets.
Over 50 Georgian products are currently available in 14 branches of Lulu Hypermarket since June, 2021, while various Georgian products will be on display in Family Food Center November 30 inclusive.
As of now, Georgian products are available in six hypermarkets in Qatar: Lulu, Monoprix, Spar, Ansar Gallery, Approved Market, Family Food Center.
