Avtandil Khurtsidze, a Georgian boxing champion who was sentenced for racketeering and related charges back in 2018 in the US, says that he will leave prison on September 14 and will return to his professional career.
Khurtsidze, who was sentenced to 10 years in prison, says that he is being let out for good conduct.
Khurtsidze was an enforcer of Razhden Shulaya, a Georgian criminal boss, and they were both arrested in the US in 2017.
US investigators stated that Shulaya and his associates were engaged in criminal activities, including acts of violence, extortion and the operation of illegal gambling businesses.
