Coronavirus: 998 new cases reported after 16,267 tests conducted

Georgia has reported 998 new cases of COVID-19 after conducting 7,412 PCR tests and 8,855 rapid tests over the last 24 hours.
Out of the 998 new cases 448 were reported in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
Other cases were reported in:

- Kakheti - 50
- Adjara - 31
- Guria - 31
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 17

- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 3
Meanwhile, 1,892 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus and 16 people have died.
As of now Georgia has confirmed a total of 252,972 cases of coronavirus since last February, including 20,629 recoveries and 3,038 deaths, while 9,279 individuals remain infected with the virus.
International flights will resume in Georgia starting February 1, announces Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava, stating that all airline companies that have already operated or plan to enter the country's aviation market in the future will be able to operate regular flights.
Several coronavirus-related restrictions will be lifted in Georgia in February and in March, following a plan approved at today's Interagency Coordination Council meeting. Georgian Infrastructure Minister and the first Deputy Prime Minister Maia Tskitishvili said that since there are signs of an easing of the epidemiological situation in some regions of Georgia, there is also the possibility of lifting several restrictions.
Energy projects have not been suspended in Georgia despite the pandemic, said Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava today adding that 670 MW worth of hydropower plants have either been put into operation or moved to the construction stage in 2020.
Over 2,000 individuals have applied for 'Remotely from Georgia', a state programme launched last year to enable foreign citizens to work in the country during the pandemic, the Georgian National Tourism Administration reported on Tuesday.
Georgia has reported 546 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours after conducting 6,269 PCR tests and 4,979 rapid tests. 1,456 people have recovered from the virus, 17 have died, while 8,352 individuals remain infected throughout the country.
