Coronavirus: 780 new cases, 1,608 recoveries, 17 deaths

Georgia has reported 780 new cases of coronavirus after conducting 9,083 tests over the last 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, 1,608 people have recovered and 17 infected individuals have died. 

Out of the 780 new cases:

  • 332 were reported in Tbilisi
  • 100 were reported in Imereti
  • 73 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
  • 72 were reported in Shida Kartli
  • 58 were reported in Kakheti
  • 51 were reported in Adjara
  • 46 were reported in Kvemo Kartli
  • 17 were reported in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
  • 14 were reported in Guria
  • 12 were reported in Samtskhe-Javakheti
  • 5 were reported in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti

As of now Georgia has a total of 247,805 confirmed cases of coronavirus, including 232,993 recoveries and 2,933 deaths. 11,853 people remain infected with the virus as of now. 

Police continue to monitor adhesion to regulations aimed at preventing the further spread of the virus fining 811 people over the last 24 hours:

  • 113 individuals - including two coronavirus-infected taxi drivers - were fined for breaching self-isolation and quarantine rules
  • 698 others were fined for not wearing face masks in public areas

Health and state officials again call on citizens to maintain the regulations, wear face masks, avoid gatherings and maintain hand hygiene.
