Aug-Dec 2020: export of persimmons up 38%

Exports of persimmons have increased by 38 per cent between August 1 - December 6 compared to the same period of last year and amounted to 10,332 tonnes, says the Georgian Ministry of Agriculture.

The earnings from exports amounted to $5.5 million which is a 41 per cent increase compared to 2019.

Most of the persimmon has been exported to the following countries:

  • Russia – 4,510 tonnes
  • Ukraine – 3,121 tonnes
  • Armenia – 2,556 tonnes

Other countries to where Georgian persimmons have been exported include Belarus, Qatar, Moldova, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan and Hungary.
