The prices of food, non-alcoholic beverages, transport and household equipment have increased in Georgia month-on-month, according to the latest inflation data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
Specifically, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased 1.8 per cent. Prices increased for:
Prices were lower for the subgroup of fruit and grapes (-7.8 per cent).
Transport prices increased by 1.1 per cent.
Within the group, prices increased for purchase of vehicles (2.2 per cent) and operation of personal transport equipment (1.5 per cent).
Proces in the group of furnishings, household equipment and maintenance increased by 0.8 per cent. The prices increased for household textiles by 2.6 per cent.
Overall, in November 2020 the consumer price index increased 0.9 per cent compared to the previous month, while the annual inflation rate amounted to 3.8 per cent.
With regard to annual core inflation, which is calculated by excluding the groups of food and non-alcoholic beverages, energy, regulated tariffs, transport from the consumer basket, the prices increased by 5.1 per cent, while the annual core inflation without tobacco amounted to 4.8 per cent", said Geostat.
As for annual inflation, prices increased in the group of food and non-alcoholic beverages (+6 per cent), health (+8.8 per cent), furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (+10.2 per cent) and transport (+5.2 per cent).
