A German-Georgian forum was created yesterday to strengthen political, education, economic, cultural ties between the two countries.
Germany wants to see Georgia as a strong partner,” said chairman of the forum and a member of the Bundestag Axel Fischer.
He noted that amid the coronavirus pandemic when people talk less and observe social distancing recommendations, the forum will support the development of relations better.
We, German MPs and friends of Georgia, want more contact with Georgian parliamentarians and the Georgian people and we want to prove that unity is important,” Fischer noted.
This is an important step in strengthening the German-Georgian friendship... I am glad that [by creating the forum] we can contribute to the deepening of relations between the two countries,” said Josef Rief, member of the Bundestag and the German-Georgian forum.
The forum also aims to promote exchange programmes between students and support science and educational ties.
