Khvicha Mghebrishvili, 45, a local of central Georgia's Mejvriskhevi village, who was arrested by occupation forces near the administrative line bordering occupied Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) on July 3 has been sentenced to three months of pre-trial detention by a so-called court of the occupied Tskhinvali region.

The relatives of Khvicha Mghebrishvili expressed hope that the detainee would be released today, however, after today's announcement they appealed to the Georgian authorities and gave them 10 days to take measures to secure the release of the detainee unconditionally.

The detainee's brother, Jumber Mghebrishvili, said that if the detainee is not released unconditionally within 10 days, a large-scale protest will be held.

The security committee of the de facto Tskhinvali reported that Mghebrishvili deliberately moved onto the occupied territories and was trying to catch bats in order to sell them afterwards.
