Several individuals have given false testimony in the suicide case of minor Luka Siradze, Public Defender Nino Lomjaria said earlier today.

Luka Siradze jumped from the ninth floor of a building after being subjected to psychological pressure at Didube police station in Tbilisi.

Law enforcers forced him to admit to having damaged the property of a private school in Tbilisi and writing vulgar phrases on its walls on December 13, 2019.

Lomjaria also said that while studying the case of the minor, the Public Defender’s office found that one police officer put pressure on the witnesses of the case, who later gave false testimonies, though the offender has not been charged for the crime yet.

Londa Toloraia, the first state inspector of Georgia, said today that several law enforcers who were present while interrogating Siradze at Didube police station ‘committed disciplinary offences during the interrogation of the minor’.

Toloraia said the State Inspector’s Office has already informed the Interior Ministry regarding the issue and will wait for the ministry's official statement.

Investigator Mariana Choloiani was detained for placing psychological pressure on Siradze that may have lead to his suicide on December 19, 2019.
