Top Georgian officials have sent their best wishes to the United States on its 244th Independence Day, praising the strategic partnership between Georgia and the US.
Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said this day is ‘remarkable’ not only for the US, but also for the entire world.
European and Euro-Atlantic integration is our foreign policy's priority and we are working together toward that end. We are grateful to our American partners for their unwavering support in this process”, PM Gakharia said.
He further noted that for almost three decades, the US has stood by Georgia's side helping ‘overcome many challenges, marked important benchmarks and celebrated joint accomplishments’.

Speaking of the current coronavirus challenges Gakharia said ‘the world faces the challenge of our lifetime and as always, in the face of this crisis, our American partners have offered us invaluable support, which we highly appreciate’.
We are very grateful for the United States' support and engagement in Georgia's fight against COVID-19 pandemic. I am sure that our joint efforts will enable us to defeat the virus and emerge even stronger as nations, as partners and allies”, PM Gakharia said.
President Salome Zurabishvili said that ‘in the history of any nation this day is very important’. Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani also wished people of America 'continued success and prosperity".

The US Embassy to Georgia wrote on Facebook that while the global COVID-19 pandemic has prohibited them from holding events in person this year, their ‘enthusiasm for this traditional celebration is as strong as ever’.
Therefore, they invite everyone in Tbilisi to enjoy fireworks from Mtatsminda Park at 10 p.m. tonight where the TV tower will light up in the colours of the American flag.
