Starting today Turkey has reopened its borders for citizens of Georgia and 30 other countries seeking medical treatment in the country.
No more than two people may accompany the patient and they must have been tested for the coronavirus 48 hours before their arrival.
They, including the patient, must present a document confirming the absence of the coronavirus at the checkpoint.
Georgia declared a state of emergency to prevent the spread of the coronavirus on March 21, completely closing its borders, with flights between Georgia and Turkey being suspended the same day.
Turkey intended to ban flights from Georgia starting March 14, but the countries agreed to postpone the decision until March 21.
