Head of Georgian Defence Forces Major General Vladimer Chachibaia joined senior NATO military commanders at the alliance’s 182nd Military Committee meeting in Brussels on January 14-15.
In his closing remarks earlier today, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach said the Chiefs of Defence recognised “Georgia’s significant and enduring contribution to NATO’s operations and missions”.
Sir Stuart Peach especially hailed the country’s contribution to the Resolute Support and the Response Force.
He said that furthermore, the Chiefs of Defence “reaffirmed their support to the refreshment and the implementation of the Substantial NATO-Georgia Package”.
The work to refresh this Package will give both allies and partners the chance to reflect recent initiatives and to prioritise these initiatives for better effectiveness for the future”, the Military Committee Chairman said.
Finally, they acknowledged that security situation in the region remains challenging and welcomed Georgia’s constructive approach to the ongoing security situation”, he added.
The Office of the Public Affairs and Strategic Communications Advisor of the Military Committee wrote on the official Twitter page that Georgia "has made great progress in defence reforms and is valued NATO partner".

Military Committee, which is “the senior military authority in NATO”, held a meeting in Georgia last year.
