Tbilisi City Hall to increase funding, allocate 70,000 GEL for liver transplant surgery

Tbilisi City Hall has announced plans to increase funding for liver transplantation from existing 60,000 GEL ($21,000) to 70,000 GEL($26,000).
The total money required for such an operation is 120,000 GEL ($44,000).
Last year we funded 10 individuals who needed a liver transplant,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said.
He stated that Georgian citizens living in Tbilisi for at least one year are allowed to apply.
Funding liver transplant operations was one of the election promises of Kaladze in 2017.
The program kicked off in January 2018.
