National Communications Commission suspends MagtiCom price hike

The National Communications Commission of Georgia has suspended a price hike in the services of MagtiCom which was meant to come into force on 18 February.

MagtiCom is one of Georgia’s leading internet service providers.

The decision was made at the commission session yesterday on 14 February.

Two Georgian major internet providers, Silknet and MagtiCom, announced the price hike and service changes on 19 January.

“The Communications Commission called on the companies to suspend the price hike and wait for the completion of market research that the commission has been conducting, but only Silknet [immediately] followed the call,” the Communications Commission reports.

The company suspended the MagtiCom price hike in order to protect users’ interests.
