Georgia improves score on EuCham Best European Countries for Business 2019 report
The EuCham report says that Georgia is the best in the region with its business environment.

Georgia has improved its position and now takes 16th place in the latest Best European Countries for Business 2019 report, published by the European Chamber (EuCham), a non-profit international organisation headquartered in Italy.
In last year’s report Georgia was 18th among 46 European countries with a score of 62, while its current score is 71.
Nordic countries are still on the top of the list: Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, followed by the UK, Switzerland and Germany.
Georgia and the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) are outstanding exceptions among ex-Soviet states,” the report reads.
EuCham ranks and analyses all 46 European countries according to their economic environment. The ranking is the result of an analysis based on internationally recognised indexes of the World Bank and Transparency International.
The EuCham score measures the overall business context constituted by corporate environment, legislation, government policies, social climate and conditions which enable or prevent private sector activities from starting, operating and expanding, both in the short and in the long term.

In the newest rankings by Global Finance Georgia takes 49th place among 128 countries with a safety index score of 9.68. With this result, Georgia is the safest country in the region.
Georgia’s economic freedom score is 75.9, making its economy the 16th freest in the 2019 Index of Economic Freedom by the Heritage Foundation.
Georgia has improved its rating in Forbes magazine’s ‘Best Countries for Business 2019’ ranking, where Georgia ranks 44th among 161 countries. Georgia improved its rating by eight positions and is ahead of countries such as Qatar, Thailand, China, Croatia, Bulgaria, Mexico, Turkey, Uruguay, South Africa, Brazil and India.
Georgia is improving its place in the world in terms of economic freedom in the latest survey by the Heritage Foundation.The Index of Economic Freedom survey ranked Georgia in 16th place among 186 countries after it gained 76.2 points. This year Georgia gained 0.2 more points than in 2017 and was ranked 9th among 44 European countries, and its overall score is above regional and world averages.
Georgia has risen in the rankings of the World Happiness Report published by the United Nations. This year Georgia came in 119th place in the World Happiness Report, while last year Georgia ranked 128th among the world’s happiest countries.

Georgia has been put on the list of top 50 countries under the Global Innovations Index rankings in 2019. Georgia is ranked 48th, while it came in 59tg in 2018. Georgia’s Innovation and Technology Agency reports that ‘Georgia's high-tech import, export of information and communications services (ICT) and industrial designs’ has caused the progress.
Georgia has moved one step forward on the rankings of countries based on the Economic Freedom of the World index published by the Fraser Institute.
Georgia has improved its position in the latest list of ‘Freedom Barometers’ published by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation annually for different countries around the world. This year, Georgia is in 27th position among a list of 45 countries and scored 69.06/100.
