As of September 30, 2019 the gross external debt of Georgia amounted to $17.8 billion, announced the National Bank of Georgia today.
In the third quarter of 2019, the gross external debt of Georgia decreased by $433.6 million.
External debt of the public sector amounted to $7.4 billion, which is 42.6 percent of gross domestic product (GDP).
External liabilities of the National Bank of Georgia amounted to $404.6 million, says the NBG.
External debt of the banking sector amounted to $4.2 billion which is 24.4 percent of GDP.
As of September 30, intercompany lending came to $3.3 billion which amounted to 18.8 per cent of gross domestic product.
The net external debt of Georgia amounted to $10.1 billion, while net public sector external debt was $3.8 billion.
