UK-Georgia Business Forum was held in Georgia today in the framework of UK/Georgia 2019, which aims to deepen UK-Georgian business and trade ties.
Georgian Economy Minister Natia Turnava spoke about Georgian macroeconomic tendencies, the country’s international ratings and the investment environment in the country.

Turnava also discussed ongoing and planned reforms of Georgia.
The priority of Georgian economic policy is to deepen international cooperation and economic integration,” said Turnava.

Turnava said that the Georgian government supports the integration of the Georgian economy to European economies and noted the working process Georgia goes through in the fields such as trade, transport infrastructure and investments.
"Economic integration policy will support trade and investment flow, deepening knowledge, sharing information, policy coordination and effective decision-making," said Turnava.
Turnave noted that Georgia aims to have increased foreign capital flows in the country as foreign direct investments are the source of economic growth and support transferring knowledge and technologies.

Use of transit potential, developing logistic centers, intermediary role between Europe and Asia for processing and producing goods, developed tourist infrastructure, open energy market,” Turnava such described the list of opportunities potential investors have if they invest in Georgia.
British trade commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia Judith Slater said that the goal is more British businesses to come [to Georgia] to find local partners and learn more about the local market.
“Georgia has a very well developed digital economy and it is easy to do business here. So we really encourage British businesses to come to Georgia to get more information, invest here and do business,“ said Judith Slater, the British trade commissioner for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The forum was organised by the British Embassy in Tbilisi.
The UK/Georgia 2019 season is a programme which consists of more than 60 events presented by the British Embassy in Tbilisi and British Council in Georgia.
The UK Season will showcase the best that modern, diverse global Britain has to offer including in culture, sport, education and business. The season will also highlight the strengths of the UK-Georgia friendship,” says the British Council.

The programme runs from September 2019 to December 2019.
UK/Georgia 2019 includes events which takes place in different locations of Georgia including big cities like Tbilisi, Batumi and Kutaisi.
The programme is funded by the British Embassy and the British Council. Sponsors of the programme are also Georgia Capital, Bank of Georgia, BP, Adjara Group and Wissol.
