Gallery Carlo Maria Biagiarelli in Rome is hosting a photo exhibition titled ‘Forgotten Victims of Occupation in Georgia’ by Georgian and international photo reporters.

The photostory reflects the tragedy and current conditions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from  Georgia’s Russian-occupied Abkhazia and Tskhinvali regions from the 90’s to the present.

The Georgian Ambassador to Italy Konstantine Surguladze provided information to Italian diplomats about Georgia’s Russian-occupied regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which face a humanitarian crisis.

Italian diplomats received information about Margo Martiashvili, who died in the hospital of occupied Tskhinvali as her relatives were unable to transport her to the Tbilisi-controlled territory via the shortest route due to the closure of the so-called border.

The exhibition features works by famous British photographers, John Jones and Malcolm Linton, as well as photos by Shakh Aivazov, Gogi Sharashenidze, Leli Blagonrarova and George Abdaladze.

The exhibition will be open until November 16 in Rome, Piazza, Capranica #97, Gallery Carlo Maria Biagiarelli.
