The latest edition of the Pro Evolution Soccer video game will feature the Georgia in the roster of national football teams available for players, following a deal between the Georgian Football Federation and developers Konami.
In eFootball PES 2020, as the rebranded game is now known, the team featuring players such as Jaba Kankava and Vako Gvilia will be playable for the millions of PC and console gamers.
The GFF revealed the news to its social media followers on Thursday, revealing the agreement with Konami, who have released PES titles since 2001.
The Georgian team will be among over 50 selections of national squads from Europe in the game, as Gibraltar, Georgia’s opponents in the real-life EURO 2020 tournament, are another newcomer to the series.
As part of the addition, Georgian national team’s kit and crest is expected to be faithfully recreated by digital artists working on the latest release of the popular title that will have both singleplayer and multiplayer options.
The PES series has sold over 100 million copies worldwide since their first release and challenged the competitor FIFA title for the status of the principal football video game.
Konami have released a demo version of the game in the run-up to the full debut and hosted players at the ongoing gamescom 2019 video game fair in Cologne.
The 19th instalment in the series is set to launch on September 10 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms.
