Pensioners, persons with disabilities and other groups in Georgia will be able to buy 35 medications for 1 GEL to treat six kinds of chronic diseases, announced Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze today.
These chronic diseases include cardiovascular, thyroid gland, lung, diabetes, epilepsy and parkinson's diseases.

Bakhtadze said that the government strives to ease the public’s medication-related expenses.
Today we are making amendments in the programme for providing medicine for chronic diseases. Starting today, together with the socially vulnerable people, all groups including pensioners, persons with disabilities and other groups [the list will be specified later] will be able to purchase medicines for 1 GEL”, said Bakhtadze.
Bakhtadze promised the public to do his best to minimise the cost of medicines for vulnerable people in Georgia.
