Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze said a tender has been announced to select the company which will conduct the work.
He said more green areas should be created to improve environmental conditions in the city.
More green areas, more parks and recreational zones are required. This project is of the utmost significance,” Kaladze said.
Roads for walking as well as biking will be installed in the park. A small island located there will be connected to the park with a bridge, and island biodiversity and habitats will be preserved.
The Digomi park will be adapted for those with disabilities.
Park visitors will also be able to enjoy a cultural-educational area as well as a café, football field and skating park.
