By-elections 2019: lowest voter turnout in Mtatsminda as of 5 p.m.

The lowest voter turnout has been reported in the Mtatsminda election district in Tbilisi, where people will elect an MP in parliament, replacing current President Salome Zurabishvili.

Voter turnout by 5 p.m. in Mtatsminda was 26,6 %, while the turnout in the second round of the 2016 parliamentary elections in the same district, at 5 p.m., was 31.1 %, the Georgian Central Election Commission (CEC) says.

The voter turnout in the five cities which elect mayors were as follows:

  • Marneuli – 17.2 % (42.5 % turnout was recorded by 5 p.m. in Marneuli during the second round of 2018 presidential elections).
  • Zestaponi - 37 % (48.4 % in 2018).
  • Chiatura - 37 % (44.9 % in 2018).
  • Zugdidi – 38.6 % (39.6 % in 2018)

Election turnout in the municipalities electing members of city assemblies:

  • Sagarejo – 67.8 %.
  • Akhmeta – 44.1%.
  • Adigeni – 45.8%.
  • Tkibuli – 33.9%.
  • Tskaltubo - 40.9 %.
  • Ozurgeti – 37.4 %.

CEC said that 68 complaints have been written so far in election commissions, 20 of them were written in Marneuli.
