IMF Managing Director will visit Georgia tomorrow

The Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde will pay a working visit to Georgia on May 19-21.

Lagarde will meet with Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze on Monday. The meeting will be followed by a joint press briefing.

During her visit Lagarde will also meet with President Salome Zurabishvili and President of the National Bank Koba Gvenetadze.

  • On July 5, 2011, Christine Lagarde became the eleventh Managing Director of the IMF and the first woman to hold that position;
  • Having served her first five-year term, Lagarde was re-appointed in July 2016 for a second term.
