Georgia celebrates International Book Day

Georgia has joined in on the celebrations of International Book Day, April 23,  established by UNESCO.

Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze visited Tserovani where IDPs live and presented books to the library of the #3 Public School of Tserovani.

We all should love books”, he told students.

Georgian military employees also joined in the celebration of the day, gifting books to citizens near Tbilisi State University and Ilia State University.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili also noted the day in a public announcement.

Minister for Reconciliation Ketevan Tsikhelashvili and Shida Kartli Governor Giorgi Khojevanishvili went to the village of Tirdznisi, which is located near the occupation line, and gave books to the village school library.

Education is the most proper investment for success, peace and development,’ Ketevan Tsikhelashvili stated.
