Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, is increasing flight frequency to Georgia during the summer aviation season.
From June 1, Qatar Airways will perform Doha-Tbilisi-Doha flights three times a day.
Also, from July 1, the company will start direct flights between Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi and Qatar’s capital of Doha, without stopping over in Baku.
The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency granted the right to carry out flights to Qatar Airways on March 15, 2018.
Flights on the route Doha-Tbilisi-Doha will be performed by an Airbus 320 aircraft.
Qatar Airways entered the Georgian market in February 2012.
At first the airline company launched Doha-Tbilisi-Doha flights 7 times a week. In 2016 Qatar Airways added four flights, while in 2017 it performed flights two times a day.
Salam Air, a low-cost airline from Oman, is entering the Georgian market, scheduling the first flights to Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi for June 15, 2018.
