Georgian athletes will return with twelve medals from the Outstanding Ukrainian Wrestlers and Coaches Memorial tournament in Kiev after three days of competition that finished today.
Levan Kavzharadze and Shmagi Bolkvadze earned gold medals in the 67kg and 72kg weight categories of the Greco-Roman discipline, while three more members of their team claiming honours.
Nugzar Tsurtsumia (55kg) and Zurab Datunashvili (82kg) added silver medals to the team coffer, while Iakob Kajaia claimed bronze in his 130kg section.

With these results, Georgia’s Greco-Roman team collected 152 points and finished third, two points behind the second-placed host team. Azerbaijan emerged as team champion with a total of 171.
In the Freestyle Wrestling part of the Kiev tournament, three silver medals were won by Teimuraz Vanishvili (57kg), Beka Lomtadze (61kg) and Geno Petriashvili (125kg).
The bronze collection from the event included medals won by Vladimer Khinchegashvili (65kg), Jumber Kvelashvili (79kg), Irakli Mtsituri (92kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125kg).
The Georgian wrestlers were among around 400 athletes from 29 countries, competing for medals in Kiev.
The memorial tournament ran between February 23-26.
