Georgian basketball team defeats Austria in World Cup 2019 qualifier

Georgia’s national basketball team defeated Austria in the Basketball World Cup 2019 qualifier in the Austrian city of Schwechat yesterday.

The Georgian team handed a defeat to Austria 78 to 64 at the Multiversum Arena.

This is the first time that Georgia has participates in the World Cup qualifiers.

The team lost two previous games against Serbia and Germany back in November, 2017. However, the Georgians will again face Germany at 7pm at Tbilisi Sport Palace on February 25.

The Basketball World Cup will be held in China for the first time from August 31 to September 15 with 32 teams qualified for the tournament.
