Georgia and Turkey are considering the development of a fiber-optic transmission line between Europe and Asia over the territories of Georgia and Turkey.
Georgia’s Economy Minister Dimitry Kumsishvili declared this initiative at today’s meeting with the Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime and Communication, Ahmet Arslan. The meeting was scheduled within Kumsishvili’s official visit to Turkey.
Development of the fiber-optic transmission line between Europe and Asia over the territories of Georgia and Turkey is one of the priorities in terms of cooperation between our countries’, said Kumsishvili at the meeting.
The Georgian minister believes that this would be the shortest road to connect the countries of Europe and Asia to China, which will bring great economic and social benefits not only to Georgia and Turkey but also all the countries involved.
