Georgia’s mountain resort Gudauri will host a skiing competition involving the diplomatic corps accredited in the country on February 10.
Together with diplomats, members of the government of Georgia and officials of the Foreign Ministry will take part in the competition DipSki2018 which will have several categories of competitions.
The competition that is supported by the Mountain Resorts Development Company Ltd under the country’s Ministry of Economy aims to promote Georgia as an important ski destination and to encourage trips to Georgia’s ski resorts.
Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze are scheduled to address participants and speak about the country’s tourism potential.
Janelidze will touch upon the Prime Minister’s initiative on hosting the World Skiing and Snowboard Freestyle Championship in 2023 and the winter Olympics in 2030.
