ProWine Shanghai: China samples Georgian wine at leading wines fair

About 100,000 visitors in China are able to taste and enjoy Georgian wine at leading international trade fair for wines and spirits ProWine Shanghai in China's biggest city.
30 Georgian wine companies have been participating in the trade fair, which is taking place between November 13-15 in Shanghai.
With the support of the Georgian National Wine Agency, Georgian companies are participating for the third year in a row at ProWine China.
Besides Georgia, about 700 wine companies from about 40 countries are also showcasing their products at the fair.
China remains one of the largest importers of Georgian wine.
In the first 10 months of 2018, over five million bottles of Georgian wine were exported to China, says the Georgian National Wine Agency.
With these numbers, China takes third place as the largest importer of Georgian wine.
The group of Chinese wine importers visited leading wineries and wine making companies in the regions of Kartli and Kakheti.
Thirteen Georgian wine companies have made quite the impression at the leading industry event for wine and spirits professionals in the Asia-Pacific, Vinexpo Hong Kong, which was held on May 29-31.
China is welcoming the opening of a new Georgian wine museum that will show the country’s 8,000-year-old history of winemaking, its culture and folklore to visitors.
For the first time ever, Georgian wine will be sold at the stores of Cheers Wines in the Chinese capital of Beijing reaching a market of 22 million consumers.
