Two Georgian citizens arrested by the Russia-controller so-called border guards near the Lomisi monastery in Akhalgori municipality have been released. 

The State Security Service has confirmed that the two detainees have been freed.

Russia-controlled so-called border guards have arrested two Georgian citizens near the Lomisi monastery in Akhalgori municipality today.

One of the detainees is a monk.

The State Security Service has confirmed the detention case as well as informed the EUMM.

The possible reason for detention is said to be the their ‘illegal border crossing’.

The hotline has been enacted by the State Security Service to timely gather information in a timely manner about the location of the detained individuals.
