London Stock Exchange is hosting a ‘Georgia Investor Day’ together with Galt & Taggart, members of Bank of Georgia Group PLC and the leading brokerage firms in Georgia today.

Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze officially opened the trading day at the London Stock Exchange.

This is a good opportunity for us to give information about the implemented reforms of Georgia and its ambitious plans that aim to turn Georgia into a regional centre to the investors. There is an interest towards investing in Georgia that will enable us to see more Georgian companies at the London Stock Exchange. Our goal is to more effectively integrate Georgia into the global economy”, said Bakhtadze.

Chief Executive Director of the London Stock Exchange Nikhil Rathi said that London Stock Exchange has a long history of cooperating with Georgian companies.

For example the Bank of Georgia that is in the premium segment listing … small Georgian companies’s shares are also traded here. I think with this partnership we proved that global markets concentrated in London are interested in new opportunities that are in Georgia and that are linked to the economic growth prospects of this country. This is a country of 5% economic growth, low tax and debt rates, high professional people and renewable energy”, he said.

In total representatives of 130 large investment companies attended the ‘Georgia Investor Day’ at London Stock Exchange.
