Georgia’s western Zugdidi municipality Mayor Lasha Gogia and his deputy Gia Gulordava quit their posts yesterday as the Georgian State Security Service had launched an investigation concerning a corruption case which allegedly involves Gogia.
Recently question marks have been arisen regarding a possible crime committed by elected officials of Zugdidi municipality, which must be answered. Investigation is in progress,” the Georgian Dream ruling party official webpage reads.
The Georgian Dream has many times proved that no one is untouchable and everyone is equal before the law,” says the statement.
The Georgian State Security Service confirmed that the investigation is ongoing regarding corrupt deals in Zugdidi with possible involvement of Gogia.
