Georgia has 46 potential candidates for the upcoming presidential elections so far.
The Central Election Commission has finished accepting the applications of potential candidates yesterday evening.
“26 candidates out of 46 are named by initiative groups, the other 20 have been named by political parties,” Central Election Commission Press Speaker Ana Mikeladze said at a briefing yesterday.
The potential candidates have to present supporters’ signatures by September 18 and the number of signatures should not be less than 25,923.
The deadline for officially registering as a candidate for the presidential elections is September 28.
Presidential elections will be held throughout the country on October 28.
